Why do you need to grind out the old joints? Can't you just wash them?

If your current pointing is cracked, crumbling, or full of weeds, a standard pressure wash will simply blow the loose pieces out and leave an ugly, uneven mess. Grinding removes all the damaged mortar and organic root systems down to a uniform depth. This gives the new grout a clean, solid channel to bond with so it lasts for years without failing.

What product do you use to re-grout the patio?

We refuse to use cheap, off-the-shelf "brush-in" compounds. Those inferior products just crack, crumble, and wash out over the winter—or blow straight out of the joints the next time you jet wash your patio. Instead, we use premium, commercial-grade pointing products like Nexus ProJoint Titan. This is a high-strength, two-part resin compound that sets rock-solid, giving you a flawless finish that is highly resistant to frost, weeds, and future pressure washing.

Will weeds just grow back through the new pointing?

Because we physically grind out the old, established root systems and fill the joints with a high-strength resin product like ProJoint Titan, weed growth from beneath the joints is virtually eliminated. While surface seeds can occasionally drop from the wind, they cannot take root in the solid grout, making your patio incredibly easy to maintain going forward.
